Door Barriers

Helping to prevent damage from doors being opened too far, door protection barriers are popular choices for businesses across various industries. Alongside preventing over extending through doors being swung open, door barriers are also used to keep doors kept open; this is ideal for scenarios like the end of the school day when children are all leaving or for stores with automatic doors to keep passers-by from coming into contact.

As standard, our door hoop barriers come with a rubber door buffer which is attached to the door to take the impact when contact is made. Once your door barriers are installed, the risk of damage to the wall and the door itself is minimised, preventing surface damage to maintain a tidy appearance and avoid the need for costly repairs.

Door Protection Barriers to Suit You

As leading street furniture suppliers, we understand that one size does not fit all. Although the concept of door hoop barriers is a pretty simple one, we have created an extensive range to suit the needs of each individual customer.

Our classic door barriers are made from steel tubing with a galvanised finish, applying a protective coat to prevent rusting and maintain its condition whilst out in the elements. We offer the choice of 304 grade and 316 grade stainless steel, ensuring that your door protection barriers are long lasting and built to withstand their surroundings. For coastal areas or industrial scenarios, we recommend opting for 316 grade stainless steel which is designed to endure the toughest environments to provide a durable solution that can withstand the test of time.

In addition to our standard door barriers, we offer a range of door hoop barriers with added features to suit your needs, including:

  • Door barriers with a tapping rail which is designed to aid the visually impaired by helping them detect the barrier and guide them in the right direction.
  • Door protection barriers with a perforated infill for not only added strength and visibility, but to discourage members of the public from using them as play equipment or for attaching their bicycles or dog leads too when entering the building.
  • Automatic door barriers with a sleek and elegant design for use with outward facing automatic doors in locations such as medical centres, offices and retail stores.

Door Barriers FAQs

What is galvanised steel?

Galvanised steel is steel coated with a thin layer of zinc. This process is mainly carried out so the steel beneath it is protected from rust. It’s particularly beneficial where steel is used to produce street furniture that will be exposed to different types of weathering, hence why you will see our door barriers are made with galvanised steel. Typically, galvanised products have a thicker gauge of steel thus offering better protection. The finish of a galvanised product can always be powder coated giving it a more aesthetically pleasing finish.

What’s the best grade of stainless steel for door barriers?

Stainless steel boasts very long-lasting protection against harsh impacts in several different contexts. Stainless steel also boasts a modern aesthetic appeal – perfect for modern corporate areas and outdoor areas surrounding new builds. It comes in different grades, with 304 stainless steel being the most common form of stainless steel used around the world, due to its excellent corrosion resistance and value. We offer the choice of 304 grade and 316 grade stainless steel, ensuring that your door protection barriers are long lasting and built to withstand their surroundings.

How do you maintain stainless steel door barriers?

To ensure your stainless-steel product maintains its original shine and stain free appearance, it is advised that you regularly clean it with a stainless-steel cleaner or similar using clean microfibre cloths to wipe and buff the surface.

What is the purpose of a tapping rail on a door barrier?

Most door barriers come with an added horizontal tapping rail. The tapping rail is there to aid the visually impaired in detecting the door barrier when using canes.
