Stainless Steel Benches

For businesses and public facilities of all kinds, a steel bench can provide value to both employees and visitors. With a contemporary design that is easy to maintain, stainless steel benches are ideal for fitting into various landscapes to provide a simplistic yet practical addition.

At Speedy Street Solutions, we offer multiple bench options from wooden benches and steel benches to plastic benches. Steel benches are popular in education facilities, offering an uncluttered way to provide seating options to school, college and university students on site. As well as this, the benefits for business owners include providing their staff with a place to recuperate during their break or spend some time socialising with their colleagues to make the most of their well-earnt rest. In addition to private facilities, a steel bench is often necessary in public areas. Parks, bus stops, train stations and taxi ranks can all benefit from providing steel benches to those who may need to rest whilst out and about.

The Flexibility of a Steel Bench

Dependant on your surroundings, choose stainless steel benches to meet both your aesthetic and functional needs. As leading street furniture suppliers, we understand that each customer is looking for a different solution and there is no one size fits all approach. Whether you are looking to add a steel bench to the smoking area outside of your office or provide a place for friends and family to sit to embrace the serenity of nature during a walk through the park, choose a steel bench to suit your surroundings.

Our classic curved stainless steel benches are designed with contemporary locations in mind, with their sleek curved back providing both aesthetics and functionality to provide a comfortable place for people to relax. This type of steel bench is particularly popular in shopping centres and school grounds, providing a modern design to compliment the landscape around it.

Another popular option is the straight stainless steel bench, a simplistic design with no back. Providing a more flexible option where space might be limited or where it is placed in a central location so passers-by from both sides can make use of the steel bench, you cannot go wrong with this design. In places where a basic design is preferred to keep attention on the surrounding grounds, these stainless steel benches maintain an uncluttered appearance which can suit most locations.

What is the difference between cast iron and stainless steel?

Cast iron and stainless steel are two of the most common types of casting materials used for making street furniture. You’ll see that there are several products listed on our catalogue that uses either or of these materials.

While it’s easy to think these two materials are similar, there are several advantages or disadvantages for either material. The biggest difference between cast iron and stainless steel is the carbon content in the materials. Cast iron usually contains more than two percent carbon, while cast steel checks in between 0.1-0.5 percent carbon. Consequently, cast iron is known to be far more durable for the likes of street furniture. However, stainless steel is still boasting very long-lasting protection against harsh impacts in several different contexts. Stainless steel also boasts a modern aesthetic appeal – perfect for modern corporate areas and outdoor areas surrounding new builds.

What does galvanise steel legs in optional extras mean?

Our stainless-steel benching is supplied with the optional extra of galvanised and powder coated legs. Galvanising is a process where a protective zinc coating is applied to steel to stop corrosion and rusting. This is commonly done using the hot dip method where the steel is submerged into a bath of molten zinc. Typically, galvanised products have a thicker gauge of steel thus offering better protection. The finish of a galvanised product can always be powder coated giving it a more aesthetically pleasing finish.
