Cycle Stands FAQs

Where Can I Place Cycle Stands?

Whether you need to offer a cycle stand at residential complexes, office spaces or public settings, they can be installed in a straight or staggered row along any sturdy wall.

How Much Space Do Cycle Stands Need in Between?

They should be installed at least one metre apart when installing cycle stands or cycle hoops. If you put the stands too close together, they will be challenging to use. Having them too close together will likely lead to tangled handlebars and cables.

When installing cycle stands near the road, you should allow at least 600mm of space in front of the stands so that the middle of the bike frame is adequately supported. Again, if they are too close to a wall, parked bikes don’t get adequately supported and can fall and incur damage.

If the cycle stands are going close to a curb, leaving at least one metre of space in front of the stands is advised to avoid parked bikes getting damaged by passing vehicles.

If you would rather avoid the hassle of measuring between cycle stands, we offer a range of cycle shelters too, which are a good option if you need multiple cycle stands next to one another.

Can you put cycle stands on the grass?

In short, no. It is advised that cycle stands or cycle hoops need to be put on a solid, durable surface such as tarmac, concrete, slabs, or block paving. If you install cycle stands or cycle hoops on grass, it will create a high-traffic zone for cyclists, and you’ll be left with cycle stands in muddy puddles.

How long will my order take to arrive?

At Speedy Street Solutions, we offer free delivery to England, Wales, and Southern Scotland. (For delivery supplements to any other UK and European destinations, please contact us). Under the current COVID 19, situation orders placed today may take up to 4-5 working weeks. This is subject to change depending on courier workloads and availability - please get in touch with us for current lead times.

How do you install cycle stands?

Cycle stand installation usually requires holes to be excavated – each product has details on the size needed. Cycle stands or cycle hoops need to be cast into concrete or bolted down into concrete or tarmac.
