Single Top Tier Cycle Rack
High-Quality UK-Made Single Tier Bike Racks
Our UK-manufactured single-tier bike racks are specifically designed to optimise space in areas with limited bicycle parking. These innovative cycle racks provide efficient bike storage with one upper tier and ground-level access, allowing for more bicycles to be securely parked within the same footprint.
What is a Single Tier Bike Rack?
A single-tier bike rack includes a durable frame with one upper level of horizontal racks. This tier can be accessed through a lifting mechanism or an inclined ramp, enabling cyclists to easily place their bikes on the upper platform. The lower level remains at ground level for straightforward parking and retrieval of bicycles, making it an ideal solution for maximizing bike storage in compact spaces.
Of course, there are many variations of cycle stands including compact cycle racks, wall mounted cycle racks, semi vertical bike racks, and free standing wall cycle docking stations, amongst others...
Advatages of single-tier bike stands
1. Space Efficiency
Single-tier bike racks maximize vertical space, allowing more bicycles to be stored in a given area compared to traditional bike racks. This makes them ideal for urban environments or places with limited floor space, where efficient bicycle parking is essential.
2. Enhanced Security
Many single-tier bike racks include individual locking points, offering increased bike security. Cyclists can use their own locks to secure each bike to the rack, reducing the risk of theft and ensuring peace of mind for bike owners.
3. Weather Protection
Some single-tier cycle stands are equipped with shelters or canopies, providing protection from rain, snow, and harmful UV rays. This helps maintain the condition of the bicycles and ensures that riders return to a dry seat, making bike storage more convenient in all weather conditions.
4. Easy Accessibility
Designed with user-friendliness in mind, single-tier bike racks often feature ramps or lifting mechanisms that make it easy to place bikes on the upper level. This easy access encourages more cyclists to use the racks, promoting cycling as a practical and accessible mode of transport.
If single-tier bike stands aren't for you, here at Speedy Street Solutions we also manufacture other types, such as semi-vertical bike stands, Sheffield Toast Cycle Racks, Cycle Stands & Racks with Central Lock Bars and lots more...
What Are Single-Tier Bike Racks Made Of?
In the UK, single-tier bike racks are primarily constructed from the following materials:
1. Galvanized Steel
The most common material for single-tier bike racks is galvanized steel. Known for its strength and durability, galvanized steel is resistant to rust and corrosion, making it perfect for outdoor bike storage. The steel is coated with a layer of zinc through galvanization, which enhances its ability to withstand harsh weather conditions and ensures a long-lasting lifespan.
2. Aluminium
Some single-tier bike stands also feature aluminium components. Aluminium is lightweight and naturally resistant to corrosion, though it is not as strong as steel. It is often used in the moving parts of the rack or in areas where minimizing weight is essential. Despite its lower strength compared to steel, aluminium offers good durability for bike storage applications.
Design Variations in Single-Tier Bike Racks
The design and features of single-tier bike racks can vary depending on the manufacturer and the installation site's requirements. Some bike racks require manual lifting, while others incorporate automated or gas-assisted lifting mechanisms for added convenience. These racks are ideal for maximizing bike parking capacity, ensuring security, and promoting cycling as an eco-friendly mode of transport in space-constrained areas.
PLEASE NOTE: There are TWO versions of this single-tier bike stand. You can either have the bike racks hoops underneath (like in the 3rd product photo) or have the basic single-tier cycle rack without thenm.
It is also important to note that if you have the cycle hoops in the bottom section, there will be five of them, like in the photo, (2 bikes fasten to each one) whilst in the top section, there will be 10 single bike racks.
